Godzilla 2012 In The News 04/03/10

Written By: Ken Hulsey

Today, since the news reports on "Godzilla 2012" have slowed a bit, I have decided to expand this feature to include 'all' forms of Godzilla related news.....and boy, this first one is a doozy!

This site is only a few days old, and already it's crossing over to the wrong side of the tracks. Somehow I should have known that monster movie fandome would mix with pornography some day.

Yes, today's first story is about kaiju-porn, thanks to the fine folks over at i09. Of all the images included with the article, the one to the left was the only one I could post here. As you can imagine there are a lot of illustrations of dragons having sex with buxom maidens, naked girls with Mothra wings, big-breasted women putting on monster suites, and even Gigan with breasts.

Because I want this to be an 'all ages' site, I opted not to go with any of those images, though tempting.....hey, I am a man you know.

Don't believe me? Well check it out for yourself...if you are 18 or over!

Women And Monsters: The Weird Universe Of Kaiju Porn [NSFW]
i09.com

Giant monsters will rampage across movie screens in Clash Of The Titans tonight, but they're already having an orgy on the Internet. Dinosaurs, Godzilla and other creatures are having improbably naughty sex with young maidens. It's highly NSFW!

Is there anything weirder than kaiju porn? It includes women who love dinosaurs, Godzilla, dragons and other giant monsters of legend and cult film. (We're not including tentacle porn in this round-up, because otherwise this post would be as big as the Internet.) It also includes women who dress up as dinosaurs and dragons, or who just are dinosaurs and dragons. If the giantess porn we featured a while ago was about women's sexuality overpowering men, and metaphorically crushing cities, then this is about women being carried away by lust, with the reptilian part of our brains firmly in control. Let the wild rumpus begin, or something!

Speaking of Gigan, and you will probably never look at the monster the same way after that, "Godzilla vs Gigan" will be screening in Chicago.

"Godzilla vs Gigan" will be shown at Delilah's in Lincoln Park on Sunday, April 11th at 6pm.

From what I gather, Delilah's is a bar that normally features live bands, but I guess they show movies on Sundays.

Here is the address:

Delilah's

Two stories back-to-back about porn and bars. There went my 'all-ages' rating!

"LEGENDARY PICTURES TO DEVELOP AND PRODUCE MAJOR MOTION PICTURE BASED ON TOHO COMPANY’S ICONIC MONSTER, GODZILLA

Burbank, CA – March 29, 2010 – Legendary Pictures announced today that they will develop and produce a new film based on Toho Company’s famed GODZILLA character. Through the terms of the agreement, Legendary Pictures has acquired the rights to produce a movie inspired by Toho’s Godzilla, a franchise the Japanese company created and has nurtured for over fifty years.

Toho’s GODZILLA franchise boasts one of the most widely recognized film creatures worldwide, resulting in a series of books, television programs, video games and more than 25 films worldwide. Legendary intends to approach the film and its characters in the most authentic manner possible. The company will, in the near future, announce a filmmaker to helm the film for an intended 2012 release. The film will fall under the company’s co-production and co-financing deal with Warner Bros. Toho will distribute the film in Japan."

"Godzilla" is coming back -- this time, with Legendary Pictures taking the lead, co-producing and co-financing with Warner Bros. for release in 2012.

Legendary announced Monday it had obtained rights to the iconic monster character from Japan's Toho Co., which has overseen more than 25 "Godzilla" films. Toho will release the pic in Japan.

Legendary said it's planning to announce a director shortly.

In addition to Legendary, producers on the new film will be Dan Lin, Roy Lee and Brian Rogers. Yoshimitsu Banno, Kenji Okuhira and Doug Davison will exec produce.

"Godzilla is one of the world's most powerful pop culture icons, and we at Legendary are thrilled to be able to create a modern epic based on this long-loved Toho franchise," said Thomas Tull, Chairman and CEO of Legendary. "Our plans are to produce the Godzilla that we, as fans, would want to see. We intend to do justice to those essential elements that have allowed this character to remain as pop-culturally relevant for as long as it has."

Legendary noted the film will fall under its co-production and co-financing deal with Warner Bros. Legendary's productions with Warners have included "The Dark Knight," "300" and "The Hangover."

Speculation about a new "Godzilla" has been active since last summer. The Bloody Disgusting web site reported in August that the project was in development.
